Born in New York City she has resided in Wyckoff for several years. Ellen graduated Ridgewood High School Class of 1973. She was awarded her undergraduate degree from William Paterson University and Masters degree in Education from New York University. Ellen was a special needs teacher in Haworth, NJ. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, George & Mary Scanlon. Survivors include her loving brothers, George Scanlon, Jr. and wife Paula of Virginia and James Scanlon and wife Marni of Wyckoff. There are two adoring nephews, J.P. Scanlon and Gavin Scanlon surviving. Prayers will be offered on Wednesday at 7:30 PM at CC Van Emburgh Funeral Home, Ridgewood.
