Trudy Batterson (little Trudy) January 26, 2010
I was her goddaughter. I loved her like a mom. Her and uncle Miles took me to Disney in 1972. I remember driving there and staying at the Holiday Inn and eating at Sambo's. We used to go to their house every Sunday for dinner. I met Vera and Ellen at her house when I was about 10 years old. Ellen treated me to a trip to Europe, 2 summers in a row. I am so grateful for being able to do that. I used to look forward to go to Aunt Trudy's on Sunday's and holidays. She would always go through her make up and perfume and give me some to take home. I haven't seen her since right after her stroke. I have talked to her on the phone, just a few months ago. Her cousin Raymond contacted me with her phone number...thank you for that! Thank you Scott for calling me at this sorrowful time, You'll never know how much that meant to me. My parents were unconsoleable when I told them. My mom still doesn't understand what happened to their friendship. I pray Aunt Trudy made it to heaven and met Uncle Miles at the gate. I love them both so much and one day I will see them again. I love you both! XXXOOO Love your skinny Minnie, Trudy (I picked out purple flowers, because it was her favorite color.)

I was honored to meet Trudy almost three years ago at OCC. My dog, Jethro, had the honor of visiting with her almst every Sunday. Trudy enjoyed a happy dog kiss and Jethro enjoyed the best ear rub of his life. We will both miss her.
