Mrs. Loccke and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Loccke was one of my favorite teachers (Windsor School 1976-1977 sixth grade). I remember him as a funny, kind, and gentle man who was very well-respected and liked. I have a random memory of a pet cat named "Catness" unless he was just goofing around which is entirely possible! May God's love peace be with you and yours through this sad time.

Mr. Loccke was my very favorite teacher of all time. He was my 6th grade teacher at Windsor School back in 1973. I remember playing a class game he made up "Get the Guy With the Tie". I will never forget Mr. Loccke and I think many of his students feel the same.

Mike Gonnella February 4, 2010
Mr. Loccke, To the best teacher ever. I will never forget you. You cross my mind many times throughout the year and its been 25 years. I'll never forget your stories about your fat cat and that time your check bounced and you had to run out of class to straighten it out with the bank. And to Mrs. Loccke, you were the best too. You were the one who broke the news the Pope was shot. I will never forget both of you. Both of you live in my heart and many others. Peace, Mike Gonnella

Chris Doherty February 4, 2010
Mr. Loccke was the best teacher I ever had. He motivated me like no other, and I have talked about it for years. I was always a good student but Mr. Loccke kept me wanting more and never let me settle. He did it with a smile on his face, a whimsical/joking way, yet was strict and firm. He was given and used a special gift. Not many of us can say we have used our talents to the fullest and affected so many people positively. Rest In Peace Mr. Loccke, and to Mrs. Loccke, I pray for you to have the strength to move on and remember the good times.

Joscelyn Scarpello February 4, 2010
Mr. Loccke was not only a teacher to me. He was a friend, a mentor, and someone I could go to when I needed to just talk or vent about something. He was by far the best teacher I have ever had. There are so many stories I could share with his loved ones, but this is by far my favorite. In 6th grade I gave him a spider plant. He told me that everything in this classroom doesn’t survive the year. So another classmate and I helped him take care of the spider plant all year. We had a time during the day that we watered the plant. When the year had ended we bragged to him how the plant had survived. Every year before he retired I would go back to his classroom and visit him either after school or during a free period to see how he was and our plant. I was probably the happiest person in the school when he started substituting. I just happened to pass a classroom and there he was, I had to run in and say hi. He was such a caring, patient, and amazing person. He definitely helped me through some tough times in my life, especially in 6th grade. He will be forever in my heart. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and anyone who was blessed enough to know him.

I'll never forget the way Mr. Loccke stressed the importance of reading the newspaper every day, even to our 6th grade class, at such a young age. As I'm about to receive my degree in Journalism, I am honored to have learned this early lesson from such a wonderful teacher.

Ally K February 4, 2010
Whenever Mr. Loccke came to substitute teach it was such a treat! He always had the greatest stories and lessons (and you can't forget about BUZZ BANG!). He was truly a great man whose warmth touched those around him. You will forever be remembered, may you rest in peace.

Nicole Rios February 4, 2010

Alex Boniello February 4, 2010
One of the greatest teachers I have ever had in my entire life. He always went above and beyond to help. Not only that, but he was one of the teachers who helped my friends and I get through and understand the events of September 11th, 2001, which is something I'll obviously never forget.

Helene Levin February 4, 2010

My condolences to the Loccke family. We were fortunate to meet Mr. Loccke when my son had him in 6th grade for Mr. Loccke's last year teaching at WRHS. He always provided such a positive example for his students, and encouraged them with words of kindness and understanding. I hope that the Loccke family is comforted with all the expressions of love and admiration they receive. God Bless.

Daniel Albano February 4, 2010
Mr. Loccke was my favorite teacher ever. He taught a lot while also making the class very enjoyable to be in. I looked forward to going to school every day because I had such a great time. I remember my gym bag ripped one day and he brought it home and fixed it. That bag is still in use today and I think about him every time I use it. He was a great man and he will be missed by all.

Erika Vazquez February 4, 2010
Mr Loccke was a great teacher. He really took great care of his students and made sure that we felt like we were worth something. He was a kinda and generous man. He will be missed.

I am so happy to say a few words in memory of a favorite teacher. So the boys could not monopolize "Current Events" time on Monday mornings, I sat and watched the NFL games with my Dad and brothers on Sundays. If I recall: we got extra credit for knowing the Cleveland Browns' scores. Among other things, I credit Mr. Loccke with making me a fan of football. I bought him a Cleveland Browns coffee mug for Christmas because he was the first teacher I had who brought his coffe to work with him and drink it in the classroom. I have missed him all these years and will continue to do so...

Martha Neil February 5, 2010
Rose Marie, I was one of Ed's RHS classmates and I wanted to express my condolences to you and the family for Ed's passing. Reading all the moving comments from his students is a testimont to someone who truly loved being a teacher. Sorry for your loss.

6 billion people on the planet and I was lucky enough to have had Mr. Loccke not only as a mentor, a teacher, but also as a friend. The life lessons I learned in his classrooms are ones that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Rest in peace, Mr. Loccke. I'll miss you.
