Maya J. Khemani, originally of Calcutta, India, and longtime resident
of Oakland, NJ, the beloved wife of Jamnu and loving mother of Sharad
and Sumeet, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010. She was 64 years
old. Maya, a real estate agent, book club leader, treasured family
chef, two-time cancer survivor and lover of music, language and life
itself, will live on in the hearts and minds of the many friends and
family who had the privilege of her companionship. A service to honor
her enduring spirit will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 5:00PM,
with a Hindu ceremony to begin at 7:30PM, at the C.C. Van Emburgh
Funeral Home, 306 E. Ridgewood Ave. (corner of Maple Ave.), Ridgewood,
NJ 07450. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society in Maya's honor
