As our minister says, Evelyn Wallace Eldridge, 98, of Bethlehem Township, New
Jersey, graduated on a sunny Monday afternoon, December 19, 2011.
She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, where she lived until moving to
Ridgewood, New Jersey, with her husband Kenneth and 2 children, due to the
relocation of Lever Brothers Research, Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she and
her husband had met and worked. She lived in Ridgewood, New Jersey, for 45
years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church before moving to
Hunterdon County, NJ, 15 years ago. Her parents were born in Peterhead,
Scotland.
Mrs. Eldridge is survived by her son Kenneth Richard Eldridge (Nancy) of
Lafayette, Indiana, her daughter Jean Wallace Eldridge of Bethlehem Township NJ,
4 grandchildren, Sara Eldridge French (Garth) of Seattle WA, Kenneth Jay
Eldridge (Sarah) of Lafayette IN, David Eldridge Boyle of Bethlehem Township NJ,
Jack Scott Eldridge of Seattle, and great grandson Alec Ethan French of Seattle,
named after her Grandfather Alexander Ironside of Peterhead.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Earl Eldridge, her
sister Ginger Wallace (aged 7), and great grandson baby Jensen Daniel Eldridge.
Mrs. Eldridge's lifelong friend (from age 3) of Boston, Edna Massey, passed away
10 months ago. They had spoken the day before.
