Beloved father of Janis Aull of Battle Ground, WA; Neil Rypkema of Silver Bay, NY; Paul Rypkema of Wyckoff, NJ; Jeanne Savietta of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ; Joan Rypkema of Schuylerville, NY and Steven Rypkema of Midland Park, NJ. Loving grandfather of Kristen, Alison, Craig, Paul, Brian, Jason, Kelly, Gregory, Samantha, Rachel and Anna and two great-grandchildren Adam and Addison. Dear brother of William and Norbert Rypkema; Jule Demarest and Rene Lankering. He was predeceased by his wife Irene in 2003. Neil attended the University of Pennsylvania and served as Seaman First Class on the USS Sturgeon and USS Gabilan during WW II. Neil was involved in many family businesses including Rypkema Dairy, Laurel Hill Trucking and Hudson County Motors. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 21, 2012 at St. Gabriel's RC Church in Saddle River, NJ at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be Friday, January 20th from 4-8 PM at the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, Ridgewood. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers donations to St.Gabriel's Church or the American Cancer Society in his memory would be appreciated.
